About the role:
Tweed Shire Council is seeking a Social Media & Content Creator who knows how to craft scroll-stopping content, spark real conversations, and keep communities engaged and growing.
This role is the digital voice of Council - creating fresh, on-brand content, running campaigns, managing online communities, and staying sharp on the latest social trends.

Expect a workplace that's supportive, passionate and ready to back strong ideas.

What you'll be doing:

  • Planning, scheduling and launching creative campaigns that drive engagement and action.
  • Growing online communities and responding to comments, messages and conversations across Council platforms.
  • Monitoring conversations across social media to protect and enhance Council's reputation.
  • Tracking the numbers that matter and adjusting strategies for even better results.
  • Playing a key communications role during major events and emergency responses.
  • Keeping things organised with a smart content calendar and consistent workflows.

What Council is looking for:

  • A social media pro with experience managing multiple channels, campaigns and customer interactions.
  • A creative content maker - confident with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva or similar tools.
  • Someone skilled in running digital marketing campaigns - ads, boosted posts, competitions and polls.
  • A strong plain-English writer who can deliver sharp, clear, audience-focused content.
  • A natural organiser who can plan, prioritise and adapt under pressure.
  • A data-savvy operator who loves digging into insights and measuring success.
  • A current Class C driver's licence holder (essential).

Highly regarded:

  • Degree qualifications in digital media, marketing, communications or related fields.
  • Local knowledge of the Tweed and experience engaging with community groups.
