Spinifex Recruiting is proud to be involved with the Culcairn Solar Farm and will be providing recruitment services for labour to construct the solar farm.
We will be recruiting for various roles including;
labourers,
forklift operators,
telehandler operators,
electricians,
trade assistants,
leading hands.
Workers will be required at all stages during construction and through to demobilisation.
Project Location
The Culcairn Solar Farm is in the South East Riverina Region of New South Wales, approximately 45km north of Albury and 70km south of Wagga Wagga.
The Culcairn Solar Farm is a 440 MWp renewable electricity project comprising solar arrays and battery storage.

1. Where is the project located?
The project is located near Culcairn NSW, approx. 45 Km’s North of Albury/Wodonga. Spinifex will commence recruitment out of the Albury location, in the beginning stages. All applicants are required to be located within the Albury/Wodonga location.
2. What roles are being recruited by Spinifex Recruiting?
Spinifex will be recruiting and supplying Labourers, Forklift Operators, Telehandler Operators and Electricians to the project in all stages from mobilisation through to demobilisation.
3. What will the application process look like?
Once you register your interest in the project, our recruitment team will be in contact to discuss the role and assess your suitability via an interview. If your application is considered, you will be invited to an information session (bulk interview) where you will be assessed and then later notified if you are successful for the role.
4. Will there be Pre-Employment assessments drug screening?
Yes, you will be assessed in your capabilities and your level of fitness for the project will be evaluated during the interview process. If you are successful for the role, you will be given an appointment to attend a medical practice to undergo and complete a Drug & Alcohol test. If you pass you will start.
5. When will Mechanical Construction Labourers commence and how long will construction take?
Construction commenced in June 2024. Staffing requirements will be limited in early stages as the project ramps up.
The construction time frame depends on the project size and the number of workers deployed on site. For a 440 MW power plant, an 18 to 24-month time frame is typical, with peak construction period of 2 to 3 months.
6. How will we travel to the job site?
All employees will be transported to site each day by our designated Buses from a location in Albury/Wodonga to Culcairn NSW. Bus stop locations and route will be provided with bus timetable.
7. What are the hours of work?
The regular hours of work will be Monday to Friday 7:00am-16:45pm & Saturday 8:00am-12pm.
8. What are the payrates for each of the roles?
Labourers: $34.39 p/h + super
Forklift Operators: $35.04 p/h + super
Telehandler Operators with CN licence: $42 p/h + super
Qualified Tradesman with CN licence: $50 p/h + super
Penalty rates will be applied when applicable.
