Blantyre Farms Pastoral Group is a leading agricultural enterprise dedicated to sustainable farming practices and livestock management. We are seeking a Senior Farmhand with experience in both cropping and livestock operations.

The Property

Blantyre Farms' properties span diverse and fertile landscapes in the district of Young. This role is based at Blantyre Farm, conveniently situated 18 kms from Young. Blantyre Farm covers 5000 acres, supporting both sheep and cattle alongside varied pastures.

The Role

This role is pivotal in supporting the day-to-day operations, ensuring the successful execution of cropping and livestock programs, maintenance schedules, and capital projects. You will assist with the health and care of sheep and cattle, conduct pasture assessments, and implement grazing rotations. Additionally, you will support pasture, cropping, and harvest programs, feed fodder and supplements to livestock, and oversee the implementation and maintenance of maintenance programs, such as fencing and water systems.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience in cropping and livestock operations.

• Knowledge of pasture improvement and grazing rotations.
• Proficiency in using agricultural software like Agriwebb and Agworld.
• Skills in maintaining and repairing farm equipment and infrastructure.
• A commitment to safety and creating a safe work environment.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage tasks and responsibilities effectively.
• Strong communication skills for reporting and training junior farmhands.
