Procurement Officer

Job description

The Role

This role will be primarily supporting the Shared Services area with procurement processes and other procurement duties.

Reporting directly to the Procurement and Contracts Manager the successful applicant will provide an efficient, high quality and professional procurement service in line with Service Level Agreements, corporate and legislative requirements.

Day to day responsibilities:

  • Drive and coordinate all procurement activities
  • Monitor and facilitate contract management processes
  • Develop comprehensive procurement documentation (e.g., tenders, quotes)
  • Assist in evaluating tender and quote submissions
  • Provide expert advice on procurement matters
  • Analyse and resolve challenges collaboratively
  • Engage effectively through strong verbal and written communication skills

Essential Requirements:

  • Certificate Level 4 Qualification and/or extensive experience in procurement activities and documentation preparation
  • Experience in developing procedures, process aligned to procurement activities
  • Well developed written and numeracy skills with the ability to prepare and review written reports
  • Current Class C Driver's Licence
  • Australian working rights
  • Recent professional references

Highly Regarded:

  • Sound working knowledge of local government legislative requirements in relation to procurement activities.
