Location

This position will be based in regional NSW. The role is primarily farm-based at Gooloogong, with potential flexibility for the right candidate to work from our office in Orange for some of the time.

The Opportunity

As People & Culture Business Partner, you will provide strategic support to the business in executing employee life cycle activities. The role partners closely with business leaders building strategic relationships and supporting the execution of the AFMH People Plan. The role is a key member of the People & Culture team ensuring all we do supports the business strategy, values and objectives.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Partner and consult with client groups across all areas of the employee life-cycle and ensure people cyclical activities are delivered
  • Support and participate in the talent acquisition process providing strategic support to enhance the hiring outcome, including recruitment and on-boarding
  • Actively monitor the workplace, report all hazards, incidents and near misses and assist in the management of the return to work of injured workers.
  • Coach and guide managers to manage employee relation issues, including performance management, misconduct, absenteeism and grievances
  • Comply with AFMH policies and procedures as set out in the WHS Manual to promote a safety first culture and lead by example
  • Participate in the design of people initiatives, identify continuous improvement opportunities including safety improvement initiatives.

The successful applicant will possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in HR and/or WHS desirable
  • Relevant and practical experience in similar roles
  • Working knowledge of Australian industrial relations legislation
  • The ability to work independently and take initiative in all aspects of the role
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage competing activities
  • Achievement focused and resilience, tenacity and flexibility
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong collaborative relationships
