Plant Manager - Food Processing Facility | Northern Rivers, NSW

Lead daily operations, manage a close-knit team, and play a key role in a well-established agribusiness.

Our client is a long-standing Australian-owned business operating in the food production sector, with significant investment in infrastructure and a strong commitment to quality, innovation, and growth. With a new processing facility about to go live in the Northern Rivers region, they're looking for an experienced, hands-on Plant Manager to take charge and make this site a standout success.

About the Role

As Plant Manager, you'll be responsible for the full operational performance of a brand-new food processing site. Leading a small team, you'll ensure all machinery is running efficiently, quality and food safety standards are maintained, and production meets targets. You'll also be expected to step in and assist on the floor when needed (especially during peak periods or with equipment issues).

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity based in Dunoon, NSW, offering a chance to help shape the future of the facility from day one.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of a modern processing facility

  • Lead, train, and support a small operational team (3-4 staff)

  • Uphold food safety and WHS compliance across all activities

  • Perform or oversee mechanical maintenance to minimise downtime

  • Manage inventory and raw materials for uninterrupted production

  • Support quality control and accreditation efforts (e.g. BRC)

  • Step into production tasks when required to ensure smooth output

About You

  • Strong experience in managing or supervising teams in a production environment

  • Background in food processing highly desirable

  • Mechanically competent - able to perform hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting

  • Mandarin language skills a plus (not essential)

  • Organised, proactive, and solution-focused

  • Comfortable working overtime during peak periods when needed

  • Competent with IT systems and ideally familiar with digital production management tools
