Our client is a long-standing Australian-owned business operating in the food production sector, with significant investment in infrastructure and a strong commitment to quality, innovation, and growth. With a new processing facility about to go live in the Northern Rivers region, they're looking for an experienced, hands-on Plant Manager to take charge and make this site a standout success.
About the Role
As Plant Manager, you'll be responsible for the full operational performance of a brand-new food processing site. Leading a small team, you'll ensure all machinery is running efficiently, quality and food safety standards are maintained, and production meets targets. You'll also be expected to step in and assist on the floor when needed (especially during peak periods or with equipment issues).
This is a full-time, permanent opportunity based in Dunoon, NSW, offering a chance to help shape the future of the facility from day one.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day operations of a modern processing facility
Lead, train, and support a small operational team (3-4 staff)
Uphold food safety and WHS compliance across all activities
Perform or oversee mechanical maintenance to minimise downtime
Manage inventory and raw materials for uninterrupted production
Support quality control and accreditation efforts (e.g. BRC)
Step into production tasks when required to ensure smooth output
About You
Strong experience in managing or supervising teams in a production environment
Background in food processing highly desirable
Mechanically competent - able to perform hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting
Mandarin language skills a plus (not essential)
Organised, proactive, and solution-focused
Comfortable working overtime during peak periods when needed
Competent with IT systems and ideally familiar with digital production management tools
On Offer
Permanent, full-time opportunity with long-term prospects
Competitive salary (negotiable based on experience)
A hands-on leadership role with room to grow professionally
Be part of a company that values initiative, reliability, and high standards
