About the role

Our team has an opportunity for a Health, Safety, Emergency and Risk Superintendent within the Sustainability department, reporting to the Manager - Sustainability.

You will lead a team providing technical expertise, education, and advice to enable Northparkes to meet its goal of no incidents, no injuries. Overall, your dedication to upholding Evolution's Values of Safety, Excellence, Accountability and Respect will contribute to a safe and high performing team.

This is a permanent full-time role working on a Monday - Friday Roster (38 hr week with option for 9 Day compressed fortnight) based in the Parkes region of NSW.

You will provide health and safety leadership through supporting the health and safety representative committee and those who hold a statutory function; and championing the risk culture by integrating risk into every aspect of the business.

Responsibilities include

  • Provide leadership and support to a diverse team of health and safety professionals, emergency response team members and access control officers.
  • Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business to ensure compliance with all project, legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Oversee the annual Health and Wellness Program
  • Champion the Evolution Northparkes Operations Safety Management System and develop and implement robust emergency management systems
  • Oversee site security requirements and arrangements
  • Key contact for co-ordinating site visits from the Resources Regulator

About You

The successful applicant will possess the following:

  • Degree in WHS or similar, combined with significant operational experience, preferably within mining, however related industry will be considered
  • Sound understanding of relevant legislation
  • Experience in the use and maintenance of HSE management systems
  • Incident investigation training and experience (ICAM training highly regarded)
  • Highly developed interpersonal, written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Strong ability to understand, develop and implement multi-disciplinary team plans and budgets
  • Manual Drivers licence (preferred)
  • Ability to pass Police check and Pre Employment Medical
