Flood Technology Support Officer

The Role

This Technology Support Officer is responsible for assisting all staff within Councils flood restoration team by providing support to users in available applications, including operating systems, network support and hardware trouble shooting.

You will be working closely with the current IT team to assist setting up new staff members and provide ongoing support to existing staff members to ensure the smooth running of day to day operations.

Your day to day

  • Provide a high level of support to all users in all available applications, including operating systems and network support and hardware troubleshooting.
  • Assist to provide technical training, advice and practical support to all users to ensure effective utilisation of applications and systems capabilities.
  • Induct new staff in Council's computer applications and associated policies and security requirements
  • Navigating Microsoft Windows network operating systems
  • Setting up SharePoint folders

Are you suitable for the role? You meet the following criteria:

  • You are curently based in the Northern Rivers and available to commence on short notice
  • Qualification in Information Technology or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills, including an understanding of local area network configuration, administration, implementation and troubleshooting.
  • Confidence fulfilling the above listed day to day duties.
  • Class C Drivers Licence
