Our Client:

Mount Foster is a family-owned farming enterprise spanning 21,000 acres (8,500 hectares) across two farms, focused primarily on cotton production, with additional dryland cropping and cattle operations. As a BMP-accredited farm, Mount Foster is committed to responsible, efficient cotton management and sustainable practices.

The Role:

This hands-on management position will see you leading the day-to-day operations of a large-scale irrigation farm, focusing on crop management, equipment maintenance, and workforce planning. Working closely with the owner-manager, you will coordinate with contractors, consultants, and industry bodies to drive efficient and compliant operations.

As Farm Operations Manager, you will o oversee irrigation schedules, crop cycles, budgets, and procedures, fostering a strong team culture and upholding high agronomic standards. Your leadership and organisational skills will be key in helping the team achieve their goals and enhancing farm productivity.



What We're Looking For:

We seek an experienced farm manager with a strong background in cotton production and irrigation. This role requires exceptional management and communication skills, mechanical aptitude, and practical knowledge of field and irrigation operations. While a diploma or degree in agriculture is highly valued, extensive hands-on experience, chemical accreditation, and a truck and motor vehicle license are essential. Proficiency with basic software is also important for managing day-to-day tasks.



What You'll Do:

  • Team Management: Recruit, train, and supervise farm hands, manage workforce planning, and uphold safety and well-being standards.
  • Operations Management: Oversee crop cycles from planting to harvest, monitor soil health, and implement precision agriculture for sustainable productivity.
  • Equipment & Facility Maintenance: Ensure farm machinery and structures are well-maintained and WHS-compliant.
  • Irrigation Oversight: Manage large-scale irrigation activities, including water cycles and pump maintenance.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the farm at industry events, liaise with support services, and stay updated on cotton production advancements.
