Job description
Hartley Valley Holiday Farm, a member-owned recreational property, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Farm Manager to lead operations on their 372-acre rural escape. The farm offers a unique blend of accommodation and outdoor activities, including horse riding, motorbike trails, swimming, tennis, and bushwalking.
About the Role
As the Farm Manager, you'll be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the farm, optimising the experience for members and guests. Your key responsibilities will include managing the team, overseeing horse care and motorbike facilities, coordinating events, handling farm administration, and managing financial processes. This leadership role involves working with the Board to keep the farm running smoothly, take care of the land, and provide great service to the members.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily farm operations, staff management, and member services
- Ensure the care and well-being of horses and other livestock
- Manage budgets, financial reporting, and membership administration
- Organise events and activities for farm members, including seasonal celebrations
- Maintain a high standard of hospitality and customer service
- Implement environmental and property management practices
What We're Looking For
We are seeking someone with a blend of practical skills and management experience who can ensure the farm runs smoothly day-to-day. Strong leadership and customer service abilities are essential, along with a solid understanding of animal care, environmental management, and farm operations. While knowledge of horse and motorbike activities is an advantage, a proactive approach and a commitment to maintaining a high standard across all areas of the farm is essential.
